Biotronics has subcontracted with Springboard Engineering, an Iowa-based engineering design and fabrication company, to build the first commercial online pork grading system that can simultaneously determine carcass percent lean and the amount of marbling in the pork loin of hot carcasses.  This system, called BioQscan™, will be commercially available for packing plant use in the Fall of 2009.

Genus PIC has recently contracted with Biotronics for centralized processing of live swine ultrasound images on specific lines within their breeding program.  In cooperation with Iowa State University, Biotronics will provide ongoing training and certification of Genus PIC ultrasound technicians.
